I have been an active member of Federation since I joined as a student member. During this time I was elected as a Relief Officer in 2007, worked as a Beginning Teacher Project Officer in 2006, been a member of the New Educators Network (NEN) 2, presented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workshops at Beginning Teacher Conferences and I have successfully engaged in many Trade Union Training courses and conferences. At school level, I have been the Women’s Contact and as part of the Dubbo Teachers Association I have been both the NEN and the Aboriginal Contact.
As a strong Koori woman, I am passionate about Public Education – the education of all people regardless of race, socioeconomic status, gender or age. As I Councillor I can be more involved in fighting for the rights of our teachers and I have more opportunities to demonstrate my commitment to both Federation and Public Education.
