No League Tables Media Conference

Edited highlights of the media conference held by Teachers, Principals and Parent Groups in response to the publication of League Tables by major newspapers.

The federal government has made the data available in the knowledge that this type of misrepresentation of schools would occur.

At a media conference on Friday 29th January, Teachers Federation President, Bob Lipscombe, federal President of the Australian Education Union, Angelo Gavrielatos, P&C spokesperson, Sharon Johnson, NSW Secondary Principals Council President, Jim McAlpine, and Chairperson of the Public School Principals Forum, Cheryl McBride, condemned the federal government for failing to prevent the publication of league tables.
